Same-sex marriage got another support today. And it’s a big one.

In an interview with ABC News, President Obama – aka Preezy of the United Steezy - publicly professed his full support of gay marriage. Previously, the Commander in Chief had resisted the idea (at least on a public level).

"I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married," he told ABC's Robin Roberts.

The people have spoken. And it turns out: you have an undying love for Katy Perry, Glee is still a thing, and Neil Patrick Harris does a damn good job pretending he's not gay. That was the gist of the 2012 People's Choice Awards, but there was oh, so much more.

Fans voted online for their favorite artists, entertainers, performers, etc., and then everyone crowded L.A.'s Nokia Theater to see who got what. The show, peppered with skits, Demi Lovato songs and inspirational speeches, was just what it's supposed to be—entertaining. And without further adieu, here are the best and worst moments of the 2012 People's Choice Awards.

Most child stars are just that: Children who got famous before they turned 18 and then disappeared forever, never to be heard from again (i.e. Jonathan Lipnicki or the little boy from "The Shining") Or the child stars get an ego by the time they turn 11 and completely turn into adult sh-t shows (i.e. Danny Bonaduce, Corey Feldman).

But some child actors have actually made a comeback. These former child stars are actual, normal, real life actors now. It's almost like they were never child actors!

Neil Patrick Harris: NPH had the potential to become such a forgotten child star. He was so popular playing the child doctor on "Doogie Howser M.D." that his crash and burn could have been epic. However, somehow he overcame the pitfalls of starring on a show about a teenage doctor and the campiness of that show actually made his popularity as an adult even better. When he first appeared as Barney Stinson on "How I Met Your Mother," he became even more popular because everyone was like, "Hey, it's that guy from Doogie Howser!"
Just as news broke that New York governor Andrew Cuomo had signed the state's marriage equality bill Neil Patrick Harris announced that he was engaged to be married to boyfriend David Burtka.

Right before the Governor signed the bill he Tweeted that “he'd sure love to get married.”

"Please, New York Senate, vote in favor of marriage equality today," he said. "My family would really appreciate it."
Neil Patrick Harris did such a good job hosting the Tony Awards; he should’ve gotten a Tony for his performance.

Harris took the stage with Hugh Jackman in a song and dance parody of Anything You Can Do, taking jibs at each other’s career. Usually I’m not a huge parody fan--it’s my “get up for a snack” time when I’m watching Family Guy-but it was appropriately entertaining for the Tony’s.

The upcoming Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark show took some major hits from Harris last night.

No, Neil Patrick Harris is not hosting the Academy Awards this year. And yes! We've heard the rumors that haven't stopped, even one week before the Oscars! But we did just hear that NPH will be opening the biggest event in Hollywood on Sunday.

According to Deadline Hollywood, Harris will kick off the show with Martin Short, doing an original song-and-dance number that will be choreographed by producer Adam Shankman.

Additionally, Shankman has reportedly created another big dance number that will involve two past contestants on So You Think You Can Dance. Word on the street is that producers had originally approached Robin Williams, but he declined.

In related Oscar news, a new slew of men have been announced as presenters for the show. Gerard Butler, Bradley Cooper, Tom Ford, Jake Gyllenhaal, Chris Pine, Keanu Reeves, Ryan Reynolds and Sam Worthington will also present. Talk about eight new reasons to watch the show!
Neil Patrick Harris took to Twitter to show off the latest "How I Met Your Mother" guest star, the one and only Jennifer Lopez.

The photo caption read, "Jennifer Lopez was really great - hot, cool, and funny. And well prepared! She gave me a few pointers. Here's one:"

Neil's HIMYM co-star Alyson Hannigan was also taken back by J.Lo's beauty. She tweeted, “Jennifer Lopez is SO pretty! And funny!! And nice!!! It’s not fair.”

J.Lo is set to play a no-nonsense self-help author, Anita Appleby, who teaches women how to retrain men through the power of denial. In the episode J.Lo's character will try to address Barney's (NPH) womanizing ways and "break him."

"We're looking forward to a week of revealing outfits and sexy dance moves the likes of which this show hasn't seen since Regis Philbinguest starred," series executive producer and co-creator Carter Bays said about J.Lo's guest appearance.

Make sure to tune into HIMYM in March to catch J.Lo "break" Barney.
