Ne-Yo: I'm NOT Engaged

The status of Ne-Yo’s ring finger has been up for debate for too long. Is he engaged? Isn't he? Is his girlfriend Monyetta Shaw just that, a girlfriend? Back in September he announced that his longtime girlfriend was pregnant with their second child and someone posing as his rep claimed that they were engaged.

Hollyscoop caught up with Ne-Yo at Nivea PDA Day and had to set the record straight.

“That’s a rumor that’s floating around. No, that is not happening, that is a very comical rumor and nothing more,” says the R&B crooner.

There were also some murmurs that Monyetta and Ne-Yo's two kids were joining the cast of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” but that too is also false.

However Ne-Yo himself did make a few reality TV cameos on Adrienne Bailon’s new Style Network show, “Empire Girls.”

“Adrienne is an artist that I'm working with, she’s very very talented,” Ne-Yo tells Hollyscoop, “They call me her mentor on the show but I don’t know if I necessarily agree with that but I am definitely hands on with what she is doing and the whole nine yards.”

However, it took some convincing to get the singer to appear on a reality show, afraid that they might turn him into a reality TV cliché.

“I didn't want to do the show at first. I can admit, I did not want to do the show at first but the way it came across, it came across right. They didn't try to turn me into anything that I'm not, they didn't show me in a light that’s not me, so I'm happy about that,” says the singer.

While Ne-Yo is known for his soulful sounds, we forget that the guy has got a serious six-pack.

“I'm killing myself, two hours a day everyday,” says Ne-Yo, “But as I started noticing myself in the mirror and was saying ‘wait a minute, what is that line? That wasn’t there before.’ So now it’s still about health but it’s [also] about looking good too. Who doesn’t want to look good, I'm thirty-two and I ‘aint getting no younger any time soon, so I'm going to make it look as good as I can for as long as it can look good.”

Sounds good to us, Ne-Yo!
