Natasha Richardson has reportedly been taken off life support.
New York gossip columnist Liz Smith first reported the news via a post on
wowowow.com. She writes, “Word is in at 1:30PM Wednesday they have taken Natasha off of life support.”
Natasha had been at New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital since yesterday, and Liam, the two boys, Vanessa, Lynn Redgrave, Joely Richardson have all been in the hospital with her.
Alan Nierob, a family spokesman, said on Wednesday afternoon that he had no information about Ms. Richardson’s medical condition. When asked if she was on life support or had been taken off life support, Nierob replied: "I don’t deal with rumors. I don’t care about rumors. All I care about is facts. And I don’t have any facts to give you."
A source said yesterday of Natasha’s condition, "Nobody goes to Lenox Hill who is really sick; if she’d had a chance to live, they’d have found another great brain hospital!"

Sources close to Natasha’s family tell E! News that she has indeed been taken off life support. She was reportedly brain dead by the time she arrived in New York Tuesday night.
Natasha’s two sons have been holding vigil at the hospital along with Liam Neeson. Several members of her family have visited, including her mother Vanessa Redgrave, her sister Joely Richardson, and her aunt Lynn Redgrave.
A source close to the family tells E!, “It’s particularly tragic for Vanessa. because she just finished playing a woman who loses her daughter in The Year of Magical Thinking, and now she has to endure it all over again.”
