Actress Natasha Richardson was hospitalized on Monday afternoon in Montréal after suffering a serious head injury during a skiing accident.

Richardson was skiing at Mont Tremblant ski resort in Quebec, Canada when the accident happened. According to the ski patrol, she fell and tumbled down the slope, but she did not strike a tree or another person.

She was immediately taken to Centre Hospitalier Laurentien but then transferred to Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal, reports People.

Her husband, actor Liam Neeson, left the set of a movie he was filming in Toronto and rushed to his wife's side, reports AccessHollywoood.com.

"Liam Neeson left the Toronto set immediately to fly to Montreal upon news of his wife’s accident," a rep for his film Chloe said in a statement to Canadian TV.

"We do not have any details at this time but we hope for the best and our thoughts and prayers are with Natasha and Liam and their family."

They haven't released any more details about her condition, only that she has suffered a head injury and is in critical condition. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family! We'll keep you guys posted on her condition as soon as we get more details.

UPDATE:

Despite certain media outlets reporting that Natasha Richardson had died from the skiing accident, she is still alive. Natasha is currently in critical condition.

TMZ is reporting that Natasha was transported from the hospital to a private jet, which they believe is headed for New York City. A hospital rep also released a statement them saying that Natasha is suffering from brain swelling, and is sedated, but is not “brain dead.”
