Natalie Portman married long-term boyfriend Benjamin Millepied over the weekend. Congrats! I had no idea they weren’t married this whole time. Apparently, they were just “Hollywood married” which is when you have a kid together and go to the Oscars together. Anyways, congrats.
The are-they-aren’t-they couple tied the knot on Saturday night in the central California coastal town of Big Sur.
The vows took place in a private home, after dark, in a traditional Jewish ceremony.
People magazine is reporting that Ivanka Trump and wait for it, Macaulay Culkin were in attendance at the wedding.
Yup, Natalie and Macaulay have been “friends for years” according to a source. Macaulay even dated Natalie’s “Black Swan” costar Mila Kunis for eight years.
This couple had a very confusing road to the altar. Natalie and Benjamin met on the set of “Black Swan” where Benjamin was the choreographer. The couple announced they were engaged and expecting their first child in December 2010. A few months later a very pregnant Natalie Portman went to the Oscars and gave that weird speech about her then-fiance wanting to bone her, remember that terrible awkward speech? Yeah, still trying to forget about that.
Natalie gave birth to their first child in June 2011 and then at the 2012 Oscars the couple debuted matching wedding bands, leading us to believe they had secretly gotten married, alas, they were actually wedded this weekend.
Since her hubby is a Frenchman, Natalie is considering becoming a French citizen.
She previously revealed, “I now have the possibility of taking on French nationality. It would accomplish the Francophile dreams of my father and myself,” she told Madame Figaro magazine, “I lived in Paris when I was 12 and my father gave me the name Natalie as an homage to Gilbert Becaud’s song.”
