We're not quite sure when Vanessa Hudgens became a singer, but she's already taking a break from the career.

The High School Musical cutie, who has released two albums (when? where?) told MTV News that she wants to step away from albums and musicals.

"I'm kind of taking a break from music right now," she explained.

"I'm just focusing on films and acting. I feel like when I'm doing something, I really want to focus on that and try to not spread...

Vanessa Hudgens is out there trying to promote her music, but she ran into some difficulty while performing one of her songs.

Vanessa was singing one of her songs at a concert when she put the mic down before the lyrics stopped(1:17).

Vanessa Hudgens is being sued by music producer Johnny Viera for over $5 million and punitive damages. According to him, he and Vanessa had an agreement back in May of 2005 to split profits after he launched her career. But after she skyrocketed to fame, Vanessa dropped Viera and he says she failed to pay him the rest of the money she owed him, which was $2 million.

When she's not doing High School Musical or hangin out with BF Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens is in the studio. She's currently recording her second album in LA.

She's also on musicchoice.com all week where fans can read interviews; watch video clips and exclusive footage of the HSM star. Busy lady! I have a feeling we'll be seeing Vanessa around for a long time.
