Breakout Band of 2009: The Script

If you haven’t heard of the band The Script, it’s about time you put them on your radar. Named the VH1 “You Oughta Know Artists on the Rise,” The Script is the band everyone in the industry is talking about.

Their self-titled album is the #1 UK debut album, and has sold over 2 million copies worldwide. They were personally chosen by Paul McCartney & U2 to open for them in concert, and just sold out a US headlining tour and just opened for David Cook.

The Irish trio boast a whole new brand of Celtic Soul, blending hip hop lyrical flow with pop melodiousness, state-of-the-art R'n'B production with anthemic rock dynamics, classic song construction with gritty contemporary narratives. It's got all the emotion and passion you would expect from across the Irish sea, but it is glittering in its modernity, universal in its singalong addictiveness and global in its syncopation, music for the feet, heart and head. Think U2 versus Timbaland, Van Morrison remixed by Teddy Riley.

totally agree! for every emotion these guys have a song ! in love with their song breakeven ... perfect break up song ! I think everyone should check them out and catch their shows....amazing live band!

you're all so right! they're an amazing band, and i'd advise you check them out. as well as making amazing music they are genuinely nice guys too, and often talk to their fans online, which gives you such an unbelievable buzz. seeing them live is an incredible experience, undoubtedly the best night of my life was when i saw them live, and i cannot wait to do it again in the future. i love the script so much! listen to their music, you won't regret it. :D

wow couldn't say it better :) i love them so much 'cause their music is so .. real . these guys can put in a song what we all think about , if it's about love or our fears ... and i just can't wait till their next album , it'll be better then their first album (if it's possible ). i couldn't agree more. the script are my favourite band ever & i am completely in awe at how amazing their music is. definitely check them out, you won't regret it at all. they're even more amazing live, & every show i've been to, they just get better & better & it's just so incredible the interaction they have between their fans & the time they are willing to take-out to talk to us is just amazing & i cannot thank them enough. please check out this great band. :)
