Counting Crows lead singer Adam Duritz has more to
worry about than mic checks and adoring groupies lately.
Duritz's been fighting severe depression and was recently diagnosed with a mental disorder that distorts reality for those afflicted.
"Being crazy is bad," Duritz says. "It's scary when the world isn't real to you. Everything seems imaginary. You don't feel pain. I stopped letting myself feel."
The Crows' new album Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings touches on his struggle. Despite the hard times, things are looking up and he has a new girlfriend. Duritz says "She's wonderful. I'm lucky to
know her."
