The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards are going to be huge this year! And just today, both Jay-Z and Lady Gaga have been added to the list of performers confirmed for the evening.

They join already-booked Pink, Green Day, Taylor Swift , and Muse on the lineup. Jay-Z is up for Best Hip Hop Video and Best Male Video for D.O.A., and his new album The Blueprint 3 is out on September 11th, just two days before the show....

The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards Nominations have been announced and Lady Gaga and Beyonce are leading the pack with nine nominations each, including video of the year and best female video!

Britney Spears wasn't too far behind, getting seven nominations including Video of the Year for "Womanizer."
