Mariah Carey and Tom Jones have in common? Not much! But they’re both making serious bank for an upcoming gig!
Mariah and Tom are being paid $1.5 million each to perform at the opening of new resort Mardan Palace in Antalya, Turkey.
The 560-room resort, owned by Russian tycoon Telman Ismailov, will open on May 23rd. And those who can pony up the cost of staying there will be treated to a great concert!
Sir Paul McCartney and Sharon Stone are among the A-list guests attending the opening. The Mardan Palace is decorated with gold leaf and crystals. Sounds right up Mariah’s alley!
And this isn’t the first time Ismailov has hired major talent for his events. He once reportedly paid Jennifer Lopez £1 million to sing Happy Birthday to him. He’s apparently determined for the grand unveiling of his hotel to be a breathtaking affair.
A source close to the tycoon said: “Telman is not a man who hesitates when it comes to throwing big parties."
Sounds like it! Now if we could only get ourselves to Turkey for the night…
