Madonna Cancels Australia Shows

December 01, 2008

Madonna has decided to cancel her shows in Australia due the economic crisis the world is facing right now. Not like Madge is feeling the crunch though! The plan was for her to play shows in January at Sydney's ANZ Stadium and Melbourne's Docklands, but they’ve been canceled because not enough people can pay the high ticket price.

Australian promoter Michael Coppel has confirmed the shows were planned, and have now been canceled. And Madonna isn't the only big name who has pulled out of Aussie tour plans because of the weak dollar. Neil Diamond, Sir Paul MCCartney, The Eagles, Green Day and Metallica have also put tours on hold because of the economic crisis. Coppel says, "Everyone is feeling their way. The risk level has gone up substantially.''

In this time, everyone has to reevaluate their priorities. Would seeing Madonna still be at the top of your list?
