TIME magazine has voted Lil Wayne the best rapper alive. Did we miss something?

"Lil Wayne has a smoke-scarred rasp that makes him sound like Redd Foxx covering Bob Dylan. It's hardly the voice you'd expect from a 25-year-old rap star, but then, it's been a busy 25 years.

"Whether Wayne is, as he claims, the "best rapper alive" is no longer even debated in hip-hop or commercial circles. Since June 10, when his latest album, Tha Carter III, sold 1,005,545 copies in its first week, he's been the undisputed champ."

Lil wayne is unarguably one of the most over played, sold out, repetitive "rappers" alive. First off I can't believe anyone would argue that because he had some million albums sold means he's the best. "Rap" is slang for popular hip hop. Popular? Yes. Hip-hop? Hardly. The beats is ill but the lyrics suck, if you really are going to try to argue that his lyrics make sense or are even halfway decent listen to some People Under the Stairs, f***'n real talk!Or just some a dat Brother Ali. U think dope, pussy and money is ALL the world is? what his listeners ALL relate too? Naw du, People deserve an artist who they connect with. Artists with problems too. I'm sick of this Radio Rap bullshit. It's time America expanded their minds outside of club music. Its time rap turned back into an art rather than this commercial, self centered, materialist, cliche. Barak Obama says: Listen to the underground music. But be careful cuz u might just choose it. Cuz Sleezy Weezy doesn't understand it. That the music aint about the dill's he's handed.

im not gunna lie, the game, nas, jayz, snoop, eminde, ti, and tons more rappers are absolutely crazy at what they do. but lil wayne is BY FAR the most best rapper alive. he comes up with the craziest lines i have ever heard in my life. hes the most clever, craziest, creative rapper in the game. and you can tell hes true to the game cus he loves it, you can here him laughing in his songs cus hes just havin fun wit it actin crazy as fuck and comin up with dope lyrics. they say all he raps about is pussy, money, weed. not gonna lie, the majoratiy of his songs he does rap about that, but shit , thats how he grew up, those were the 3 things that were all around in his childhood. and to top it off, he made a song called pussy,money,weed and wut do u kno? it was a fuckin hit. the dood has swag no other rappers have. he comes up with his own words just to finish a line, some people make fun of it, but i think its fuckin genious. he just has fun wit what he does and hes amazing at it. all of u haters out there think u got hip hop all figured out. lil wayne is the best rapper alive hands down. he survived a childhood nobody can even imagine. the dood is a soldier. he has the right to lighten up his life and puff on a lil weed. sure his rhymes were better when he wasnt high all the time but it doesnt matter, either way lil wayne is way ahead of all these other rappers. dont believe me? look at the charts bitch. and fuck all u haters tearin him down. love you weezy<3

im down with wayne...im only not down when people try to sweat him more than he deserves. hes clever, hes not a good rapper, he caint rap about one subject in any song...he makes words up to finish his lines instead of takin time to think up a real sentence..and hella dumb ass kids eat it up cause its apparently a race to be the first to decipher what the fuck he talkin bout....he makes 200 cuts a month and about 10 of those are catchy and about 1 of those are good (maybe)...and the funny thing is all the real dudes be in the back laughin at the game right now. dre, snoop, nas, jay, the game, cube, bun b even cats like common and what not, all those real cats who know real hip hop talk about how the game is whack right now, how the music is whack and its funny no one notices that weezy is on the top of his grind when the music quality is the lowest in years....direct coorelation
