American Idol winner
Kris Allen has been forced to cancel his first show since becoming a household name. Kris was scheduled to do an appearance on Conan O’Brien later this week, but has since canceled it due to a death in his family.
Kris’ grandmother passed away, according to his rep. He also let fans know via his Twitter, saying, “I know I was supposed to do conan on wed, but there was a death in my family.”
But luckily for Kris, his Idol friends have his back. Allison Iraheta will take over for him. Kris tweeted, “Allison is filling in. And by filling in I mean she is gonna rock Conan’s face off on Wednesday.”
Kris is currently also on the Idol tour with his former contestants, and is clear that the camaraderie hasn’t died down since the show ended.
Both Allison and Anoop Desai both wrote nice messages on Kris’ Twitter. Allison wrote, “love ya man .. Keep yo head up” while Anoop wrote, “I know kris appreciates all the concern-- keep his family in your thoughts.”
Our thoughts are with the Allen family at this time.
