Katy Perry’s return to her hometown in Santa Barbara has been postponed. She was originally supposed to perform there this weekend, but the fires in the area are too dangerous.
The fires in Santa Barbara continue to grow worse. More homes have gone up in flames, and 30,000 people have been forced to evacuate the area. Plus, the air quality is not safe.
Katy, who is from the area, wrote on her blog today, ”What’s most important right now is fighting the fires that threaten my hometown and saving Santa Barbara. Naturally, I am very upset but I understand the circumstances and am counting down the days when we can all be back at the Bowl to celebrate Santa Barbara and experience The Hello Katy Tour Grand Finale! My prayers are with you Santa Barbara.”
The May 9th show has now been rescheduled for August 30th. All tickets from this weekend’s show will be honored.
