David Cooks Sells Album Already

This is proof that American Idol, love it or hate it, puts people on the map. David Cook, who is still a part of the AI competition, and one of the favorites to win it all, is already selling albums.

His self-released CD Analog Heart was the number one downloaded album this past weekend on Amazon, beating out Mariah Carey! This is the first time a contestant's album has been available for the public prior to the AI season ending.

Well, now we know even if David doesn't win, he's already on his way to having a successful career!

There are both true/untrue facts associated with this story. True: David Cook's Independently made, written, produced and paid for (by himself), which was released in 2006 and has been sitting on AMAZON since then, is the #1 digital download on Amazon. False: This is NOT, I repeat, NOT the first time a contestant's album has been available. Smithson/Hennesy's, Michael Johns, and even Brooke's releases are there and available. Taylor's independent releases were available season 5 as well. I have no clue why David Cook is bearing the brunt of this type of thing. The album only started charting cause people were looking his name and work up. It wasn't charting before. Geez.
