David Cook just couldn’t let David Archuleta have his moment in the sun. Just hours after Archie announced his upcoming tour dates, Cook has confirmed a national tour of his own.

This is David Cook’s first-ever solo tour, and he’ll be promoting his self-titled album. He says, "I'm more than excited to hop on the road and support this record. This tour represents both a new beginning and a return to form for me."

Ah, doesn’t it just bring you back to last season’s battle of the Davids? His debut album still has a couple weeks until it’s out on iTunes, but Cook seems to be doing a great job of keeping himself in the limelight. He also rocked it last weekend on SNL!

David Cook has released his first single off his first album since winning American Idol. The song is called Light On, and will be on the unnamed album that will drop on November 18th.

American Idol Winner David Cook is working hard on releasing his first solo album after his big win. He's teaming up with Grammy-winning producer Rob Cavallo for the venture, who has worked with such artists a Green Day, Kid Rock, Eric Clapton, Clapton, My Chemical Romance, Goo Goo Dolls and the Dave Matthews Band.

Everyone wants a piece of American Idol winner David Cook right now. And now the people who made Bleeding Love such a huge hit want to do for David. The Leona Lewis song was actually written by singer Jesse McCartney and Ryan Tedder, but then realized the song would be much better off for a girl.

And boy were they right! That song is still topping the charts! Jesse says he and Ryan plan on writing some songs for David Cook...

David Cook is loving life right now. He's this year's American Idol, and is also ruling the charts on iTunes. He's killing it with his new single Dream Big, which he performed on the Idol finale. Jordin Sparks has just handed over her "American Idol" crown to new winner David Cook. And she has some good advice for him: get some sleep!

"Sleep as much as you can because you don't get any sleep," she told reporters after performing on Wednesday's finale. This is proof that American Idol, love it or hate it, puts people on the map.  David Cook, who is still a part of the AI competition, and one of the favorites to win it all, is already selling albums. 

His self-released CD Analog Heart was the number one downloaded album this past weekend on Amazon, beating out Mariah Carey!  This is the first time a contestant's album has been available for the public prior to the AI season ending.
