Dave Matthews Band has decided to pull a Coldplay and give away a free single off their new album! They’re kicking off their tour tonight at Madison Square Garden, and to get the buzz out there, they’re offering a free single off their new album Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King.
Dave and DMB bassist Stefan Lessard announced the news today via Twitter, figuring it was the best place to get the word out. The new album is the first of the band’s since saxophonist LeRoi Moore passed away last summer. The GrooGrux King in the album title refers to Moore’s nickname within the group.
Tim Reynolds is also on board, playing for this album, which is his first since 1998. Dave Matthews Band kicks off its 2009 tour tonight in New York City and will be on the road through October 2nd.
