Uh-oh.
Coldplay is being accused of plagiarism again! Now the veteran singer, Yusef Islam, previously known as Cat Stevens, alleges the band ripped off one of his songs. And funny enough, it’s the same song Joe Satriani accused them of stealing—
Viva la Vida.

Foreigner Suite is the basis of Coldplay’s
Viva la Vida.. “There’s been this argument about Coldplay stealing this melody from Joe Satriani, but, if you listen to it, it’s mine! It’s the
Foreigner Suite, it is!”
This is very reminiscent of Joe Satriani’s claims. He claims it incorporates “substantial original portions” of his song and is seeking “any and all profits” from the track.
Islam claims the alleged similarity occurs roughly 14 minutes and 33 seconds into the 18-minute song. But what’s interesting is that Islam used one of Coldplay’s production team for his new album
Roadsinger.
Why would he come out of the woodwork about this now? Cat Stevens’
