Christina Aguilera's Performance at 2008 VMAs

Christina Aguilera performed Keeps Getting Better last night at the 2008 MTV VMAs. The song was great but it would have been cooler if she actually sang some parts of the song. We get that it was very electronic, but she has an amazing voice so it wouldn't be that hard for her to pull it off.

Nevertheless, we can't wait for her new album! We're digging the new sounds.

I love Christina and I liked this performance but I have seen her do better and it was obvious she wasn't singing the whole time. She does do a GREAT job coming out with a hole new look for every album. I do like the song and I don't see how anyone could say that she is copying anyone else, that include Britney. Britney has NO TALENT and I don't see how she one even one award. I can't wait to hear Christinas new album.

The VMAs sucked this year. Even if Christina really sang the vmas didn't deserve a performance like that. I don't see how she's ripping off Lady Gaga. I mean i don't see any neon shoes, shoulder pads, or a disco stick in that performance and the dance moves are not really the same. Plus the hair style is very common. And the suit goes with the song. She looked go for being a new mum.

Her die hard fans, like myself, know that she can sing live and usually always does, so there has to be a reason why she lip sync'd/half lip sync'd her performance. And she did not copy Lady Crap Goo, her inspiration came from superheros/villians like the Black Cat/Elvira.

Yes, she is always a step behind. The song was too "Radar" at the beginning. What about the boring Back to basics, when she believed better than other, because she was mature and not "trashy pop" anymore?. Now she says Bitch. Britney said it first. It's Britney Bitch.

I Love Christina. She has one of the most gifted voice present in the Music Industry. I was kinda sad she lip synched..But it was a good perfomance though.

Christina didnt copy noone she is original in her own right her performance was channeling superheroes umm yeah Lady Gaga and britney copyrighted bleach blonde hair and leather suits Give me a break!!!! Miss Aguilera is the Queen of Reinvention and she didn't lipsynch at all i heard her clearly towards the end, i loved her performance it was the highlight of the night and cant wait for her greatest hits album.

The lip sync was the least of my problem with this performance...this was reminiscent of Britneys out flop last year. Seriously, it also reminded of Paual Abdul's career ending VMA trun in that horrible S&M type boydysuit. CA mother hps just were not complimented by that outfit. She looked silly. Really, really silly. That was the most pretenious thing I saw all night. Yeah she can sing, but her material rarely seems to stand up to her voice.

i too was very disappointed in her lip syncing, i've seen her live many times and she's never lip synced before and she never needs to. you could really tell. honestly, you can seriously tell every time an artist is lip syncing, so i dont know how they think they can get away with it.. people aren't dumb. its sad. team britney on this one =)

okay I keep seeing people post the same damn things about lipsync. First lets get into that. She HAD to lypsync because if ANY of you NON-Music inclined people know She had compression of the voice on the track and alot of special FX, She sang it live it wouldn't come off the same way. Secondly She is DANCING and panting and puffing and if anyone knows when you dance(me) and sing its hard to keep your voice prestine! and clear without inhaling A BUNCH OF AIR. Third WE KNOW SHE CAN SING cut the girl some slack she has an amazing voice. Now to end it if any of you guys perform you KNOW better than to start complaining about her when indeed its hard to keep pace..and WHO IS LADY GAGA? if she is popular than I guess Christina must have missed that because Christina COPIES NO ONE!!!!!! and lastly EVERYONE BORROWS or gets inspired by other performers quick complaining

Erin, I'm not her biggest fan, though I have enjoyed some of X-Tina's songs. But, why would she have to try (or want, for that matter) to be like Britney? That idea makes no sense, and therefore, neither did that comment.

I'm one of Christina's biggest fans but I thought this performance sucked. It was mostly lipsynced. With that big voice she didn't need to do that. I felt musically it was more like watching lady ga ga. I wasn't impressed.
