Britney's Latest Single Facing Radio Ban

Britney Spears' most recent single from her album Circus is facing a possible ban from North American Radio. The song, If You Seek Amy, has some controversial lyrics that radio stations across the country think is too offensive.

One of the verses allegedly includes the “F” word, and mother’s groups are up in arms! It’s the part in the song where Brit sings, “All the boys and all of the girls are beggin’ to, if you seek Amy.” And many people are swearing she sneaks a dirty word right in there at the end.

Patti Marshall from Cincinnati’s Q102 radio station told MTV, “It’s OK to put in on an album, have fun with it, but we’re publicly owned, you know? “We have a responsibility to the public, you put this… out and act like we’re all fuddy-duddies, like we’re trying to make moral judgments. It’s not about us. It’s about the mom in the minivan with her eight-year-old.”

This is something that could easily be bleeped out. Half the songs on the radio are that way! You can barely get through an Eminem song, so it doesn’t seem like that big of a deal to censor one word in Britney’s song. If it’s even there. What do you think of the possible ban?

I don't think it should be banned. I mean she doesn't even curse in the song...and so what if there's a hidden meaning. i personally love it

Jeez.. they make such a big deal about nothing.. those people can change the station if they dont wanna hear it.. or maybe have control and discipline of their children instead of worry about outside things that don't matter THAT much...

Yes, forewarned the radio stations can "bleep" the offensive mutterings out. Or, on the flip side, much ado about nothing and it gains Spears some much needed attention. More will listen to the song now just to see if they can pick up the "F" word. It's "bad" publicity that will turn up the ratings for everyone.

I doubt it will get banned. I've listened to the song alot and have a hard time still to hear it. I think it's a bunch of bull. I'm not in love with the song though. Sounds alot like all the other crap on the radio. She should have released Unusual You instead.
