There’s no way around the fact that this movie is going to be hilarious. Both
Tracy Morgan and Martin Lawrence have both signed on to star in a new comedy co-written by fellow comedian Chris Rock.
The film is called Death at a Funeral, which may sound familiar, because surprise surprise! It’s a remake!
The film was originally a British comedy from 2007, which is about a family who comes together for the death of the patriarch. A lot of family secrets are unleashed at the funeral, and the family gets jarred when the deceased’s alleged gay lover shows up.
Also joining the cast are James Marsden, Zoe Saldana, Danny Glover, Regina Hall, and Loretta Devine. Chris Rock is not only the writer, but he’ll produce and star in it as well.
We have some confidence in this project! The cast is pretty impressive, and Chris Rock is a great writer, at least as far as comedy goes. But British humor is tough to surpass, and the original was amazing. It’s up to Chris’ all-star cast to make what they will of it! Filming begins this Spring.
