Steve Carell Signs On For Get Smart Sequel

Steve Carell is in negotiations to star in the sequel to last year’s popular movie Get Smart. The summer blockbuster's huge success landed Carell a multi-million dollar three-movie deal with studio Warner Bros. last month. But as Hollyscoop reported previously, that deal didn’t include any Get Smart sequels.

Steve Carell To Play French Soldier In Upcoming Film

If this sounds like a heavy role for him, don’t worry. Steve Carell is set to play a French general in an upcoming film called The Adventures of Brigadier Gerard.

The spoof movie calls for Carell’s character to be a goofy, dumb, and brave general during the time of the Napoleonic Wars. That’s quite a combination!

Gerard follows Napoleon from his rise to power to his permanent exile. The comedy is based on stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
