Stephanie Meyer has been accused of plagiarism by another author for her novel
Breaking Dawn, the fourth in the hit series of Vampire books.
A woman named Jordan Scott has sent a cease and desist letter to the publishers of Meyer's 2008 novel claiming it bears a "striking and substantial similarity" to her 2006 fantasy book
The Nocturne.
Scott claims that Meyers stole scenes from her book and recreated them for her own book, but Meyer's reps deny the accusations.
The spokesperson tells TMZ.com, "The claim that Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer somehow infringes on an alleged book by someone named Jordan Scott is completely without merit. Neither Stephenie Meyer nor her representatives had any knowledge of this writer or her supposed book prior to this claim."
It's not the first time Meyer's had been hit with a plagiarism suit. Back in April 2009, Meyer's roommate from Brigham Young University, Utah claimed that Meyer's books were based on short stories she wrote in college.
