Shia LaBeouf has just been cast in a new thriller called The Associate, based on John Grisham’s book of the same name.
The plot involves a Yale law school grad who is blackmailed into joining a reputable law firm. He’s them given privileged information about a multibillion-dollar lawsuit. Wow, Shia will be acting older than his age in this film! Wasn’t it just last year that he was playing a high school student in Disturbia?
It’s been a little while since we’ve seen a screen adaptation of a John Grisham novel. But The Firm, The Client, A Time to Kill and Runaway Jury have all been successful in the theater, so we can count on this being a major box office hit.
