Brad Pitt to Star in Sherlock Holmes Sequel

Last month we heard rumors that Brad Pitt was joining the cast of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes. But the rumors were quickly shot down.

But now we hear talk again of Brad’s involvement, but this time, it’s regarding the sequel! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Brothers has already begun developing the sequel to the film, and Pitt is currently in discussions with producers to play Holmes' nemesis Moriarty.

Brad Pitt has just joined the cast of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes. And he’ll have to put on his game face, because he’ll be playing Holmes’ nemesis Moriarty!

According to the Daily Mirror, Brad found a tiny break in his busy schedule, and decided to squeeze this in! He will be heading to London for shooting tomorrow. Us Weekly reports that Brad will shoot all over the city, including the Royal Victoria Dock, Pontoon Docks, Pinewood and Chatham Docks...

The trailer for Guy Ritchie’s version of Sherlock Holmes has hit the internet today!

Robert Downey Jr. stars as a detective in a battle of the wits with his partner Watson, played by Jude Law, against their nemesis, whose deadly plot could destroy all of England. Rachel McAdams plays the love interest Irene, and Mark Strong is Lord Blackwood.

This is a much darker Sherlock Holmes than you might expect!

Rachel McAdams Snags Lead Role in Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes

Guy Ritchie has a new leading lady for his version of Sherlock Holmes. Rachel McAdams will play Holmes' enigmatic love interest, Irene Adler, a character who appeared in Doyle's 1891 "A Scandal in Bohemia."

While the character only appeared in that one story, McAdams' personage would return for any possible sequel. As reported earlier, Robert Downey Jr. will play Holmes while Mark Strong will play the main villain, Blackwood.

Jude Law is portraying Holmes' colleague Watson. Sounds like an amazing cast!...
Jude Law To Play Watson In Sherlock Holmes?

Daily Variety reports that Jude Law is set to play Watson in Guy Ritchie's version of Sherloc Holmes, alongside Robert Downey Jr. Ritchie denied previous reports that Russell Crowe would be playing the part, and Jude certainly makes a lot more sense for the character.

As we reported earlier, Ritchie's movie will compete with the Sherlock Holmes starring Sacha Baron Cohen as the detective. Production on the film starts next month.
