Dirty Dancing Remake in the Works

Can’t they just leave Baby in the corner where she belongs? A Dirty Dancing remake is reportedly in the works. This doesn’t surprise us, since pretty much every great 80s classic has already been swooped up for a remake. So it was just a matter of time!

According to trade Production Weekly, Lionsgate is developing a remake of the 1987 classic and already have screenwriter Julia Dahl on board.

If Jessica Biel was hoping her upcoming role as a stripper in Powder Blue was going to get her an Oscar nod, she's about to be really disappointed.

Biel's latest movie, which also stars Ray Liotta, Forest Whitaker, Patrick Swayze and Lisa Kudrow, won't even make it to the theaters. It's going straight to DVD.

Patrick Swayze is planning on shooting a special behind-the-scenes episode of his upcoming series The Beast to give to his family after his death. Kind of a morbid thing to do, but it'll be nice way for them to remember him by.

The episode will reportedly co-star his 50-year-old brother, Don, under the direction of Swayze's wife, Lisa Niemi, and will feature documentary-style behind-the-scenes footage of the production.

Patrick Swayze is getting back into the swing of things following his amazing recovery from cancer. And now we're hearing reports that he's been approached to do a Dirty Dancing sequel!

That was the role that shot him to stardom, and it's just a matter of Patrick deciding whether or not he'd like to reprise his role as the sexy dance instructor.

Let's just hope they do this one right if it happens, and it doesn't end up like the 2004...
