Paranormal Activity is such a hot movie right now, that the studio is already reportedly planning its remake.
According to the
LA Times, Paramount is interested in making the second one while the iron is still hot.
Chairman at Paramount Brad Grey said, "We have the rights on a worldwide basis to do 'Paranormal 2' and we're looking to see if that makes some sense."
The movie cost only $15,000 and has already grossed over $60 million. And we can imagine a few theatergoers are waiting until Halloween night to see the suspenseful film, which will push the numbers even higher.
So can the studio make Paranormal Activity 2 successfully? It didn’t work with Blair Witch Project; their follow-up The Book of Shadows only made $26 million, as opposed to Blair Witch’s $140 million.
