Paranormal Activity: A Haunting True Story

You're home alone and freaky things are happening. You're terrified to go to sleep because you have a feeling you're not alone. Could it be Paranormal Activity?

When writer/director Oren Peli moved into his home he started to experience strange noises. He set up a camera to document his experiences and what he found was not only disturbing, it was terrifying!

This independent horror flick, which is being released by Paramount Pictures, centers around a young couple who learn that their house is haunted, and end up having increasingly disturbing experiences.

For the most part there are only two actors in the entire movie and it has a Blair Witch Project feel to it--expect it involves poltergeists in suburbia. Intriguing isn't it?

That movie scared the crap out of me. Normally I love horror films as well as thrillers and sometimes you will get startled but this movie is probably the scariest movie I've seen. Grant it, it may be because I've had stuff happen and so it made the movie scarier but dang.

okay, so i have never screamed during a horror movie before. ever. i love scary movies. this one was creepy, yeah, but the alternative ending was scary shit. i screamed. even the theaterical ending scared the fuck out of me. that is the most scared i have ever been during a movie.

This movie scared the living daylights out of me. If i could i would go back in time and watch something else instead of this. I was so disturbed i microwaved the movie immediately after watching it to destroy it, then threw it way.

I just watched the movie. I have also read all of the reviews so far, or I should say comments on here. First, I will say that I was on the edge of my seat the whole movie. Yes, some parts of the movie drag a little, but not for long. It is all part of the set up, or the build up I guess. Personally, I was pretty creeped out. I had a feeling it was going to be pretty damn scary, so I actually chose to watch it at 8:00 in the morning, instead of watching it at night. I also live by myself so that made it somewhat easier to watch, watching it in the morning & I was still creeped out. I can only imagine if I had watched this with the lights off by myself at night in my condo. Atleast I have the rest of the day to kind of get it out of my head. A good remedy is to watch a lot of comedy or music, or even some football. Seriously! Another good remedy is a lot of prayer & personal conversation with God. Don't laugh people! I'm serious. If it helps, where a cross around your neck & have Bible in your home.If you seek God's help through prayer & conversation & reading the Bible, He will provide you protection & comfort. As for the movie itself & as far as paranormal activity in general, I do believe that some of it is true to some extent. There are ghosts, spirits, & even demonic entities that exist in our world. They are probably everywhere around is but they rarely make themselves present or known to an individual. I think if you let your imagination wonder & get away from you, it is very possible to maybe attract such entities or paranormal activity towards you. Sometimes the mind is a very powerful thing & I do believe sometimes that a presence from the spirit world, good, neutral, or evil, if you allow your mind & imagination to do so can enter your presence to some degree. I'm not trying to scare anyone or freak anyone out, but that is what I do believe about that movie to some extent. Don't play with wedge boards people(however you spell it). I do believe they work! Anyway, I think some of the occurrences that happened in that movie are real, or atleast possible. I don't really believe that a demon actually entered that girl's body & through her boyfriend across the room with unbelievale strength & force against the wall. I mean, did that actually kill him, if the events of that movie was actually somewhat based on a true story? And did any of you notice how most all horror movies these days, over produced or not, have kind of, or somewhat copy cated that movie "The Ring"? The staticy TV, the girl(although slightly older), with the long dark hair, the creepy crawl or walk, especially towards the end of the movie, when she was apparantly possessed by this apparant demonic spirit or entity. All of these horror movies these days all seem to have some of the same very elements. All in all though, I will say that this movie was pretty darn creepy & definately more real to life or realistic then your typical horror movie. I must say that I was actually also disturbingly entertained. I definatelt recommend watching it, unless you are very easily creeped out & you know that it is going to seriously play with your mind after watching it, because this is one actual horror film I could probably truly say that could happen in real life, unlike 90% of all of the other past horror movies, even if this move was mostly a hoax.

I went to see this movie with my girlfriend and i was terrified i screamed and three girls had to leave an old woman had fainted in the theatre so it was scary and another vomited

I just saw the movie paranormal activity tonite and I must say I dont like scary or horror movies much but the fact that I heard it was all suppose to be true inspired me to see it and I can actually say it was and will always be the scariest movie I've ever seen. They didn't do too much to the movie. They did just enough to where it was taken to far and was very believeable. I think the main idea is the scariest things that can happen are the ones we cannot see. The whole slamming of the doors and the footprints really put the scare in me and chills down my spine. I actually felt like my heart was going to jump out of my chest. It was awesome! Katie was great in the movie. I mean her reactions to this haunting were unbelieveably believeable! It wasnt like most horror movies typical reaction when there is a scary seen. She reminded me of the way I would react to something like that in a real life situation. My only question at the end of the movie is, what was real and what wasn't. As far as everything else I give it 10 thumbs up!

I went to see this film the other night and I enjoyed it, this is the first horror film that has freaked me out tbh.. This is one of the best films I've seen this year and it was sooo worth the money.. Yeah it takes some time to get into it but it is worth the wait and tension..

This movie was not based on a true story. The director Oren Peli moved to a house in San Diego and started hearing noises. He was "inspired" by his experiences at his home and came up with this movie. And for anyone who doesn't know, there are 3 different endings.

Well I just finished seen da movie wt my gal and we can both honestly say that it could happen, not da de homw is haunted but dat it can really happened. I can talk from personal experience. Bout 8yrs ago and wen i decided to see dis film it brought back really bad memories. So dont dink dat dis can really hap. cuz it sure heck can. Remember da Exorcist, well dis thing hap so just believe in GOD and dont be so naive and enjoy life to da fullest cuz we neva know wat could hap. I was only 19 going on 20 and Im 27 now with a little gal and da smae girl dat experienced dat wt me. Also we had other people dere with us it was about 5 people presences and dey felt da evil dat i was caring in for almost an entire year. Hey i got over it but dere is times wen i remember wat hap and it freaked me out. I jsut to see da evil in my eyes and i could not get out it was like i was fighting myself and i use to eat like crazy and just kept loosing weight and not sleep and rock back and forth just like dat gal. Just talkin about it is givingme da chills. My brother asked me dat y didnt i record dat and i told him dat is not soemthin dat i like to talk bout but he told me bout da movie and now dat i saw it, it borught back does memories and how i use to have sex with my gal and not even remember it and she would totally frak out.. Dont dink dat Im making dis up i put it on all da people i love inclding my on life. Well laterz i can keep talking botu it n please dont ask me any questions i dont dink i can answer it because it just makes me dink more
