Nicole Kidman is set for a new role in the upcoming movie The Danish Girl. You’d probably never guess from the title that the film is about a transsexual, and Nicole is playing the lead role.
She’ll portray Danish painter Einar Wegener, the first man to ever undergo a sex-change operation. This was all the way back in 1931, and the film is based off the novel of the same name by David Ebershoff.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Charlize Theron will play Wegener’s American wife, Greta, who prompted the transformation by asking her husband to pose as a female opera singer for one of her potraits. What a hot couple! Do we smell Oscar material here?
