MacGyver Movie in the Works

MacGyver is heading to the big screen! The 80s classic television show is in the works according to The Hollywood Reporter. And we can only guess that Will Forte’s “MacGruber” on Saturday Night Live helped reboot the popularity factor. Those skits are genius!

Raffaella De Laurentiis, daughter of Dino De Laurentiis, is producing the show with Martha De Laurentiis and series creator Lee Zlotoff.

Dino De Laurentiis is executive producing, and there’s no writer as of yet attached to the project. But seriously, who needs a writer when you have MacGyver making a parachute out of shoestrings, bubblegum, and a woman’s blouse?!

The big question is, who will play MacGyver? The series was on for eight years, so will the feature be an extension of the series?

Or will they start with MacGyver as a youngen, and make this into a studio franchise? The latter of the two sounds more likely. In which case, we see “it guy” of the moment Channing Tatum as perfect for the role! What do you guys think?

The show had an older woman demo. when it was on TV-I can only imagine who it would appeal to now.
