We’re sure a few million Twilight fans might disagree. The Vatican apparently doesn’t appreciate New Moon just as much as we all do. Are we surprised?

The Catholic Church released a statement today to express their feelings about the sequel, which opens in theaters today. The Vatican's culture council leader, Monsignor Franco Perazzolo said: "This theme of vampires in Twilight combines a mixture of excesses that, as ever is aimed at young people and gives a heavy esoteric element.”

We highly doubt any real Twi-hard cares what the critics think, but the initial ratings for New Moon are less than par. Any fan of the book series knows Edward disappears for most of New Moon. But that leaves room for plenty of Jacob!

Nonetheless, numerous critics have spoken distastefully about the Twilight sequel, and here’s what they have to say:

The Twilight Saga: New Moon has only been out in theaters for a few hours and it's already dominating the box office. According to Deadline Hollywood, Summit Entertainment's New Moon debuted with $23M-$24M in 12:01AM screenings.

In comparison, The Dark Knight did $18.4 million in midnight sales on July 18, 2008, and Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince's made $22.2 million when it was released on July 15, 2009.

The music video for the upcoming film Nine has just come out, and we’ll just say we understand what A-Rod sees in Kate Hudson.

She carries the trailer, singing on stage in a short silver flapper-style outfit as she performs.

The preview shows cameos by Fergie, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, and Marion Cotillard, all of whom are romantically involved with famous film director Guido Contini, played by Daniel Day-Lewis.

The film opens on Christmas Day.

Everyone's favorite vampire Rob Pattinson put his fangs away for his latest project, "Remember Me," in which he stars alongside Emilie de Ravin and Pierce Brosnan.

The movie is a drama centered on two lovers (Rob and Emilie) whose newfound relationship is threatened as they try to cope with their respective family tragedies.

Jennifer Hudson is heading back to the big screen. And her first role in over a year is going to be a big one—she’ll be playing the powerful role of Nelson Mandela’s wife Winnie.

According to Variety, the film will begin production in May in South Africa in both Cape Town, and Robben Island, where Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years.

Johnny Depp will be making bank on the upcoming Pirates Of The Caribbean movie!

According to the Sun, Depp will receive $30 million to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow for the fourth sequel in the franchise.

When he shoots Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Johnny will become Hollywood’s highest-paid actor. It places Depp ahead of Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks and Mel Gibson, who get around $26 million a movie.

The movie poster for Couples Retreat is causing quite the stir in the U.K. While the poster in the states featured four couples, their version only portrays three. The couple left out are Donald Faison and Kali Hawk, who are the only African American leads in the cast.
