Zac Efron in talks for Gidget Remake
Cowabunga! We have another remake on our hands! This one will reportedly star three huge young stars!
According to
Moviehole, producers have approached Zac Efron and Brittany Snow to star alongside Miley Cyrus in a remake of the Gidget film series.
This classic flick will have Cyrus taking over the title role, as a girl who discovers her love for surfing, along with other things (wink wink). Most people remember Gidget as Sally Fields in the short- lived television series that launched her career. Miley definitely has some big shoes to fill for this role!
While neither Snow or Efron are signed onto the film, producers are definitely looking at the right stars. Both stars wowed audiences in the film production of Hairspray. Sounds like they would be a perfect pair to star along Cyrus in this comedy-musical!
Gidget has come quite a long way. From Sandra Dee in Paul Wendko’s 1959 original, to Fields, and now the torch is being passed to Cyrus. The flick was one of the first "beach movies" and was followed by two sequel films, various television series, and several TV movies.
The new age version of the flick is reportedly going to be the first of many Gidget films to follow! Lets hope Efron and Snow sign onto this sure to be a success. This is a
