Michael Douglas is getting a lot of buzz after news broke that he'll be reprising one of his most famous roles.

According to EW, Michael will be returning to the roke of Gordon Gekko in the sequel to Wall Street, a role he won the Academy Award for in 1987.

Oliver Stone will be back as director of the film, and Shia LaBeouf is in talks to play a young trader in the follow-up. The film will revolve around Gekko's life after he gets out of jail during the current economic climate.

A spokesman for the studio says, "We need to keep the story line under wraps, but it’s literally ripped from today’s headlines.”

Douglas says of the sequel, "I think it's time to take another hard look at tradng and the economy and what went wrong in the last few years. Everybody's talking about the economy and people are scrutinzing it. Whenever I mention Wall Street 2, everybody goes, 'Yeah. Interesting. I'd see that.'"

The sequel is scheduled to start shooting this summer. Edward Pressman, who directed the original, is back for the sequel as well. Sounds like the perfect film for our current economic situation!
