Katie Holmes is working more than Tom these days! She just signed on for a new role in a movie, and this may be a side to Katie we’ve never seen. She’s used to doing dramas, but this movie is a comedy called The Extra Man.
She’ll co-star with Paul Dano, John C. Reilly, and Kevin Kline in the movie based on a Jonathan Ames novel about a down-on-his luck playwright who works as an escort for wealthy widows to make ends meet. Ah, the old Hollywood way…try your hand at writing, and if you fail, try prostitution!
There’s no word on what role Katie will be playing, but we’re sure hoping she’s one of those wealthy widows! It would fun to see her come out of her shell and play a different type of role!
Producer Anthony Bregman tells Variety, "This is a film for our times, these hilarious characters living on the edge of enormous wealth, scrapping for small pieces of the pie. I suspect a lot of people will be able to identify nowadays."
Shooting begins this February in New York, so we can look forward to a lot more paparazzi pics of Suri with no coat in the freezing cold weather!
