Katie Holmes is gearing up for a much darker genre than she used to doing!
According to Variety, Katie has just signed on to star in
Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, a horror remake written and produced by Guillermo del Toro.
The original in 1973 was actually a made-for-TV movie on ABC. The story centers around Sally and her husband Alex who inherit a mansion from her deceased grandmother.
Strange things begin to happen once Sally discovers a bricked-up fireplace. She becomes tormented by devilish creatures, and Alex believes his wife is having a nervous breakdown.
Talk about creepy! The movie will begin filming this summer in Melbourne, Australia. Maybe she’s just doing the film for the vacation! We sure would!
