Less than one month after signing on to appear in Rob Marshall's latest project, Nine, Oscar-winner Javier Bardem has pulled out of the lead role.
Empire magazine claims that Bardem cited exhaustion from a year of filming and publicity commitments as a reason to leave.
His role is still up for grabs, and the studio doesn't have a backup replacement.
The cast of the film includes Bardem's girlfriend Penelope Cruz, Sophia Loren, Nicole Kidman and Marion Cotillard.
