When we think Disney, we think Mickey, not polar bears. But Walt Disney has always been interested in making films about nature as well. That’s why they began the True Life Adventures films in 1948, which portrayed the wild animals on our planet, through their struggles and triumphs.

From their Walt created Disneynature. Now, in 2009, the first Disneynature series is available on the big screen. It’s called Earth, narrated by James Earl Jones, and tells the remarkable story of three animal families and their amazing journey across planet Earth.

Directors Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield joined forces with the creative team behind Planet Earth to bring this epic adventure to life.

Earth arrives on the big screen this month on Earth Day, April 22nd. Disney will plant a tree for each ticket purchased.

Agreed - and a great way to carry on the legacy of Walt Disney. He started True Life Adventures before being "green" was the in thing to be, so this movie and this initiative is a great tribute to him and his appreciation of nature. Can't wait to see the movie!
