Drew Barrymore is reportedly in talks to direct the third Twilight movie Eclipse. Summit Entertainment is already looking that far ahead of the game, when production on New Moon hasn’t even started.
As you know, director of the first movie Catherine Hardwicke isn’t directing the second movie. Chris Weitz is. So why is it that they want a different director for each movie?
It doesn’t seem to make sense. According to Entertainment Weekly, Drew is on the short list of directors Summit is seeking out. She just completed her directorial debut on the film Whip It!, starring Ellen Page.
Industry people are saying that that’s not enough experience to take on such a big film, especially with the expectations the fans have.
Eclipse already has a release date of June 2010, and shooting is expected to begin right after filming on New Moon wraps. So they’d better hope to it and find themselves a director! But we’re not sure Drew’s “Flower Films” really goes with the whole vampire theme but we can't knock it till we see it right?
