Zombieland Kills it at the Box Office

We had high hopes for Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut Whip It! this weekend, but a bunch of zombies were the big winners at the box office!

Zombieland, starring Woody Harrelson, took the top spot, raking in $25 million this weekend. And fellow Sony picture Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs took second place with $16.7 million! And that was its third week in theaters!

Unfortunately for Drew, Whip It! didn’t even make the top five. Here are the top ten...

Trailer for Drew Barrymore's Directorial Debut Whip It

The trailer for Whip It has just hit the web. This is Drew Barrymore's directorial debut, which stars Juno’s Ellen Page.

The film is about a rebellious Texas teen who throws in her small town beauty pageant crown for the rowdy world of roller derby.

Marcia Gay Harden plays Bliss' disapproving mother, while Kristen Wiig and Juliette Lewis play roller-derby stars. Eve, Jimmy Fallon, Daniel Stern and Barrymore co-star.

Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange at Odds Over Emmy

Before Grey Gardens aired on HBO, there was buzz that an Emmy could be in the cards. This has lead to tension between the movie’s two stars, Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange.

According to Page Six, HBO execs have been pushing Drew to put herself in the running for Best Actress in A Movie or Miniseries category. HBO wants her co-star Jessica Lange to be in the Supporting Actress category, which she doesn’t agree with.

Drew Barrymore is reportedly in talks to direct the third Twilight movie Eclipse. Summit Entertainment is already looking that far ahead of the game, when production on New Moon hasn’t even started.
