Daniel Craig To Play Villain In Spielberg's Tintin

Daniel Craig will be playing the villain role in an upcoming movie directed by Steven Spielberg. It’s called the Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn, based on the book by the same name.

The film will be shot in 3-D motion capture to create a realistic look. Craig plays the part of villain Pirate Red Rackham, and the part of Tintin will be plated by Jamie Bell.

The two have worked together in the past on the wartime thriller Defiance, so this will be a great rematch. Spielberg has nailed down quite a cast for this film, including Simon Pegg, Mackenzie Crook, and Nick Frost.

While the plot of the 3D motion capture adventure is mostly being kept under wraps, the movie will take most of its plot from Herge’s Unicorn story, which finds the young hero investigating hidden treasure and up against the nefarious Bird Brothers.

Lord Of The Rings director Peter Jackson has also been signed up to work on the big screen adaptation, which is due for release in 2011. Jackson is to direct a second Tintin film, with the option to make a third.

Cool. But this movie hasn't even been made and there's already a sequel lined up? And an option for a 3rd? I didn't think this was a Disney film? Sounds like good series, though.
