Dakota Fanning to Join Twilight Sequel

This Twilight sequel is going to be huge! We just heard news that Vanessa Hudgens may be joining the cast of New Moon, and now there are reports that Dakota Fanning has been offered a role in the film.

She’s in talks to play an Italian vampire named Jane, starring opposite Rob Pattinson. A source even tells Eonline.com, “There were no auditions. They just offered it to her outright, and now they’re in negotiations. They’ve been going back and forth.”

The casting notice describes the role of Jane as a petite blonde with a “Botticelli angel-like face…and crimson irises.”

We think Dakota could definitely pull that off! We wonder if the producers got this idea to cast Dakota from one of the thousands of Twilight fans that actually started an online petition to Summit Entertainment to cast her.
