Spike Lee Blasts Clint Eastwood....Again!

Clint Eastwood and Spike Lee have some serious beef between them. Like we reported a few weeks ago, Spike claims that there are too few African-American actors in Clint's films, which Clint is responding to with a classic "shut your face."

Spike in particular was talking about a film Eastwood directed Flags Of Our Fathers, in which Lee says there weren't any black soldiers when there should have been. He says many African American soldiers are mad at Eastwood for eliminating black soldiers from history.

Clint's response:

"Has he ever studied the history? Yes, there was a small detachment of black troops on Iwo Jima as a part of a munitions company, but they didn't raise the flag. The story is Flags of Our Fathers, the famous flag-raising picture, and they didn't do that. If I go ahead and put an African-American actor in there, people'd go, 'This guy's lost his mind.' I mean, it's not accurate. A guy like him should shut his face."

Now Spike has hit back at Clint Eastwood with the following response:

"First of all, the man is not my father and we're not on a plantation either," he told ABCNEWS.com. "He's a great director. He makes his films, I make my films. The thing about it though, I didn't personally attack him. And a comment like 'a guy like that should shut his face' -- come on Clint, come on. He sounds like an angry old man right there."

Lee also mentioned that he has a proposal for Eastwood:

"If he wishes, I could assemble African-American men who fought at Iwo Jima and I'd like him to tell these guys that what they did was insignificant and they did not exist," he said. "I'm not making this up. I know history. I'm a student of history. And I know the history of Hollywood and its omission of the one million African-American men and women who contributed to World War II."

This is a crazy war between the two directors. Whose side are you on?

Anyone woh would have bothered to actually WATCH the movie before reporting racist slanders from Mr. Lee would have seen a shot of black support troops during the briefing sequence (16:40 into the film to be exact). That is more than many would have even thought of doing. Its sad that no one else has bothred to fact-check the allegations before echoing them. But, no, truth is irrelevant when playing the race card. Spike Lee is the ass in this story and he has is head DEEP in it.

As Bill O'Reilly recently pointed out, Mr. Spike is complaining about one of the premier film makers of all time strictly for publicity. He also complained about the use of the word "Spike" being used by a television network. Millions of dogs and hardware store owners did not object. I not only wish he would shut his face, I wish he would use a Spike to permanently shut it.

Spike Lee, you are a racist! A few years back you didn't get an oscar for your movie, so you cried " Wah, it's because I'm Black" No, it's because your film wasn't good enough. Now someone else makes a movie with no black people, and you get your panties in a knot. Did you know Clint Eastwood is making a Movie about Nelson Madela? It's 90% black people. Go figure. We are on the verge of electing our first Black President. I hope he wins. And Spike, I hope you win an oscar someday, maybe it will happen after you shut your mouth. Spike you are right about one thing, this ain't the plantation anymore. So stop talking like it still is.

Here we go again. The white man is always right regardless of the facts, regardless of the truth. Just like Columbus discovered America with hundreds of thousands of Native Americans watching him from the shorelines of this country. But don't let that inconvenient truth hinder the movie Pochontas or American history. So Clint, you are consistent with the rest of the racists.

Hey Curt, there were minorities in those two movies. Firstly, one major character was a Native American (Native Americans get less screen time then African Americans, where's Spike on that one? Oh, right, he's Black) Secondly, the entire second movie was in Japanese with an entire cast made up of Japanese men. Flags of Our Fathers was about the people specifically raising that flag and what they went through after that photo. Why must race be brought in at all? Yes, there were Black men on that island, but they were not involved directly with the men portrayed in the film. Deal with it.

I am reading all these comments and ...uumm...like most conservatives, not one of these comments actually addressed the facts. The fact is there were hundreds of thousands of minorities that gave their lives during Iwo Jima and World War II. Clint, a great veteran actor/director and maker of great blockbuster movies, overlooked putting minorities in his two movies. This makes Clints version of Iwo Jima and history inaccurate. As Spike said, this has always been a bad pattern of Hollywood historical movies (think back to "Ten Commandments", "Cleopatra", and many more). I know none of you like Spike as a person (obviously). However, address the facts FIRST...if you can.

Spike Lee is an idiot and just one more black man who is a bad representative for Black Americans. He makes one or two "Okay" movies and the press puts him on their shoulders like he's some sort of super intelligent human being and that we all must listen to his words. He's just a black guy who made one or two okay movies and the rest have been crap. So lets stop writing about anything he has to say.
