Bruce Willis will star in the film version of “The Surrogates.” The film is about the 2005 sci-fi comic series written by Robert Venditti.
Michael Ferris and John Brancato who worked together on “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” have teamed up as the screenwriters of the film.
"When I wrote "The Surrogates" back in 2002, comics-related movies were just becoming popular again," said Venditti. "My wife and I joked that Bruce Willis would be the perfect guy to play the lead role if the story was ever turned into a film, and now five years later, here we are."
The movie is set in 2054 and according to IMDB, it is set in a futuristic world where humans live in isolation and interact through surrogate robots, a cop (Willis) is forced to leave his home for the first time in years in order to investigate the murders of others’ surrogates.
They will start filming in Boston in February.
