Anne Hathaway has really proved herself as a serious actress in the last couple of years, and people have taken notice. Maybe that’s why she was asked to play the late Judy Garland on both the stage and the screen!
Anne’s been cast as Judy for a theater and a film adaptation about her life based on the biography Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland.
The Weinstein Company recently picked up the rights to it for both stage and screen. Harvey Weinstein says "We are thrilled to have the brilliantly talented Anne Hathaway portray stage and screen legend Judy Garland. I have worked with Anne on projects in the past and have known her for many years. She will be a true class act in this challenging role.”
