George Michael Has Too Much Money

June 11, 2007

Looks like all those legal fees haven't put a dent in George Michael's pocket. The British pop star is to place a $100 million bid for a Damien Hirst diamond-encrusted skull.

The piece is claimed to be the most expensive piece of contemporary art ever. Michael and his partner Kenny Goss already own several pieces of Hirst's work and are keen to add the 8,601 diamond-encrusted 'For The Love Of God' skull to their collection. Their vast art collection is currently valued at $200 million dollars.

A spokesperson for the couple says, "Michael and Kenny took in a private viewing of the diamond-encrusted skull. They looked at the piece as a possible addition to their collection."

Damien's making a mint out this, in the UK artists materials are tax deductable and this thing's worth about $50 million just in materials. Nice work if you can get it.

"Their" not "They're", and "collection" not "collections."
