Miranda Cosgrove, star of Nickelodeon’s “iCarly” and also a singer-type (let’s be real, who on Nickelodeon doesn’t have an album) apparently was injured this morning when he tour bus got in an accident in Illinois.
Cosgrove broke her ankle in the crash but luckily, no-one is seriously injured, “There were five passengers on the bus, and Miranda suffered a broken ankle. At the time, we are told everyone will be fine.” says a rep for Cosgrove.
Cosgrove was in the middle of her “Dancing Crazy Summer Tour” and was scheduled to perform tomorrow in Kansas, but after the accident the tour has been postponed until further notice. “Miranda thanks everyone for their understanding an support.”
This isn’t the only time a tour bus accident has occurred.
In November of 2009, Miley Cyrus’s tour bus veered off an interstate in Vermont and sadly the bus driver was killed. This was one of four tour buses in the Miley Cyrus bus motorcade, Miley was not injured as she was in one of the other buses that took a different route.
Just days after Cyrus’s accident, Britney Spears’s tour bus was thrown off the road in Australia due to heavy winds. This was in November of 2009 during Britney’s “Circus” tour and the bus was carrying all her equipment for the show. Britney was not involved in the crash and the driver of the bus was said to be doing fine after being admitted to the hospital.
Irish Pop-Rock band, The Script, was involved in an accident in May. The band, known for their emo pop rock anthems like “Breakeven” and “For the First Time” were involved in a collision when a car plowed into their van, but the band was pretty upbeat about it, “We were driving along, having a drink and, whack! Someone hit us. The wine was all smashed over the floor,” the band tells OK magazine.
In the summer of 2005, Eminem’s group of tour busses during his “Anger Management” tour was involved in an accident with a trailer truck. 11 member of his tour were hurt, and the drivers of the truck were injured and sued Eminem for unspecified damages.
In the summer of 2009, Bret Michael of the band “Poison” was in his tour bus when another vehicle collided with the bus causing a 5 car pile-up in Canada. There were no reported injuries and the band continued on their tour.
