Mira Sorvino

Mira Sorvino and her husband Christopher Backus now have another boy in their family! Mira gave birth to Holden Paul Terry Backus on June 22nd, and she calls him her “miracle baby.”

Mira had a tough pregnancy with Holden, followed by a long labor and delivery. Mira had placenta previa, which caused her to be hospitalized for weeks and then put on complete bed rest.

She tells People, "I developed a blood clot due to all the inactivity and had to be anti-coagulated for months to prevent a pulmonary embolism. I spent another two-and-a-half weeks at the hospital, during which time, missing the children and my husband and knowing what the separation was doing to the kids became almost unbearable. Prior to this nine-week hospital stay, I had only ever spent one night away from Johnny and Mattea (her two other children)."

Mira also talked about her delivery day, saying, "The baby was very big and he came a couple of weeks early so it took longer than we thought. During the day we had some scary difficulties with the epidural as I achieved almost no progress with the labor and then at night the placenta created problems again. Although it was not blocking the baby's path as it had done for almost the entire pregnancy, it started causing me a substantial loss of blood. Just as we began begging for a C-section, the situation turned around and the end of the birth was very easy."

Mira says that she immediately forgot about all the complications as soon as she got to hold her newest addition. She says, "As soon as they placed him in my arms I knew it had all been worth it. He is my miracle baby. With everything that threatened this pregnancy and both of our lives, he came out of it completely unscathed: perfectly healthy, beautiful and wonderful!"

Mira and Christopher’s official statement read: "We are overjoyed to bring our beautiful healthy son home to his brother and sister. We are blessed to have a home filled with so much love."

What a cute family they are! Glad to hear mom and baby are doing well!

The 81st Annual Academy Awards are just a few hours away and everyone in Hollywood is buzzing about who will take home an Oscar this year. We caught up with some of your favorite stars to get their predictions on the show, but we want to hear yours! Who are you rooting for tonight?

Elisabeth Hasselbeck:
"Slumdog millionaire!"

Rosanna Arquette:
"It's an honor [getting a nod] cause it's your peers who vote, I'm a member and I vote so it’s a nice thing for the actor. It's a really tough year I have a lot of friends in there, I do love love Kate Winslet and I loved Melissa Leo's performance I thought she was incredible, Slumdog Millionaire I love love love love. It's a good year!"

Mira Sorvino on getting an Oscar nod:
"It's like a kiss on the head from the heavens you know."

Joan Collins:
"I think Sean Penn and Meryl Streep."

Rob Thomas:
“The only movie we saw was MILK and Sean Penn was amazing in that but, I would hate to say anything else because we did not see all the movies. Usually we see everything but we have been so busy lately. Josh Brolin as well. He is always next to the guy who gets all the credit same thing happened in No Country for Old Men. I mean he was an amazing guy he just happened to be behind the other guy.”

Karina Smirnoff:
"The Reader- I don't even know what it's up for, but I loved it. I love movies when you're done watching it and you can't stop thinking about it. I was also a fan of Benjamin Button and Revolutionary Road."

Dream Walker::
“I loved Kate Winslet’s performances this year both in Reader and Revolutionary Road. She is fantastic. Heath Ledger for Dark Night and I have to say I am a little sad Clint Eastwood did not get nominated for Grand Torino. I was in that movie and I would have liked to been in an Oscar Award Winning Movie. I’m kind of surprise Leonardo DiCaprio did not get nominated for Revolutionary Road as well“

Taylor Momsen:
“I watch them every year as long as I can remember so I can’t wait. But I don’t even know who is nominated right now.”

Dwayne Wade:
"I just enjoy greatness. I enjoy seeing every actor and actress go out there and do what they love to do. I'm not really pulling for any one of them, but, of course, the ones that come to mind are the Denzel Washingtons, the Halle Berrys, you look at all these actors and actresses and you want to pull for them."

Ashlyn Gorse:
"Mickey Rourke and Kate Winslet and I'm predicting they're going to win - and the Slumdog kids, they all deserve awards."

Paris Hilton:
"I've been so busy with work I don't even know who is nominated."

Tila Tequila:
"The Changeling with Angelina and The Duchess."

The tragic news of John Travolta's 16 year-old son Jett passing away made headlines all over the world, and condolences from fans and fellow celebrities starting pouring in.

Jett Travolta suffered a seizure while on vacation with his family in the Bahamas over the New Year. Early autopsy reports confirmed that the cause of death was a "seizure disorder."

It was a vacation John and his wife Kelly Preston will never forget. They went away as a family and came back home with their son’s ashes.

As a parent, losing a child is the most difficult experience, near heart stopping. So it's no wonder why people from across the world have been sending their best wishes and condolences to Travolta family.

Actress Mira Sorvino talked to Hollyscoop at the Palm Springs International Film festival on Tuesday, where she sent her deepest condolences to John and Kelly.

"I’m terribly terribly sorry for them," Mira told Hollyscoop exclusively. "I send my love and sympathy to them. I cannot imagine how much pain they must be in right now. It’s the worst thing that can ever happen to a mother or father."

Speaking about her own children, Mira said, "I love my children more than life itself. There’s nothing in the world that compare to loving children. Before I had them, I never knew what love was.”

A small family and close friends memorial for Jett is reportedly planned for tomorrow near the family's home in Ocala, Florida. The local newspaper has started a community forum online at www.ocala.com if you'd like to leave your condolences for the family. Our hearts go out to the family. Hopefully they can get some peace after the memorial.
