‘Millionaire Matchmaker’ Patti Stanger is that person that will call you out for wearing a shirt with a tiny hole in it, or forgetting to whiten your teeth or having a scuff on your shoe. You might leave the house thinking “hey, no one’s gonna notice that.” Patti Stanger will.
But her “tell it like it is” attitude might finally be getting her in trouble. During Sunday’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Patti took calls from viewers asking for her input. During and after the show, people took to Twitter to say they weren't happy with her generalizations.
First, some dude called asking how she feels about open, long-distance relationships.
“Long distance relationships are great because they go faster and are quicker to close to a serious [relationship] almost marriage.”
Before viewers had time to decipher what that meant, Patti asked the dude if he was gay. Here’s why:
“In the gay world, there’s always going to be open [relationships]…You’re going to be okay.”
Host/gay dude Andy Cohen asked Stanger for clarification: “So wait, gays can have open relationships?”
Patti responded: “There’s no curbing the gay … I’ve tried to curb you people…I’ve decided to throw in the towel and just say, ‘Do what you want. But when you find the right person, you will know.’”
But Andy disagreed: “I’m a gay and I’m down for the monogamy.”
Stanger also criticized guys who are uncircumcised, calling it a deal breaker.
“They’re like Shar peis. They’re terribly unattractive.”
“Alright, she just offended all of Europe,” Cohen said.
Wasn’t this an episode of Sex and the City? No one seemed to mind then. Although I guess they didn’t compare a penis to a dog. Hollyscoop talked to Stanger about the wonderful world of dating, and she put it pretty bluntly with us, too.
“It’s very tough [to find love]. Harder than ever before. It’s a disposable society. Trade up, trade up, trade up.”
And as far as the do’s and don’ts of dating, Patti tells us:
“Don’t talk about the ex. And here’s a tip for men that has been happening lately—stop talking about other women who are interested in you, dating you, from your past. [Claiming] ‘that’s my friend’ when its really your ex-girlfriend whose standing at the bar eyeing you. It’s like, we don’t care about the women, if you don’t make us feel special were not going to give you this. (points to crotch).”
