The women responsible for representing all of America on the soccer field at the 2012 London Olympics have me very, very worried. The Team USA Soccer ladies just recorded a lip dub of themselves singing Miley Cyrus’ song “Party In The U.S.A.”
Kudos on the patriotic choice of song and I guess I’m just happy they aren’t doing another cover of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” but this video is walking a fine line between cute & fun and pretty uncomfortable.
I don’t know who decided that people without any on-camera talent should start lip dubbing anything and everything, but unfortunately, we have to deal with these parody videos every couple of weeks.
Half the chicks in this video have no idea what the lyrics are. One girl is sitting on the toilet, another is fake vomiting - not sure if that sends the greatest message. Someone get her a Gatorade, Olympic training is hard y’all.
On the flip side, the video showcases our USA Olympians running the track and frolicking around the soccer field. Way to go, girls! Now get us some gold medals!
This video is poised to go viral, because us regular folk love seeing athletes and celebrities doing regular things. Assuming those regular things entail jumping up and down on a bed and singing a Miley Cyrus track.
Miley Cyrus is pretty active on Twitter and apparently hasn’t seen the video yet, because if had she, she’d have already tweeted something about it.
We're reached out to Miley's rep for the singer's reaction to the video. We can't wait to see what she thinks about it!
