Just last week, the singer got together with Chris McMillan to get a cute bob and dye her hair super blonde. McMillan was the hairstylist who famously gave Jennifer Aniston “The Rachel” haircut during her “Friends” days.
Miley went back to McMillan this weekend apparently feeling like the last haircut was too pretty and/or too perfect and probably told him, “chop it all off! I want my gender as confusing as possible!”
For starters, Miley started a haircut countdown earlier this week writing 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 on Twitter each day for the whole week. We thought this dramatic countdown was an announcement about her wedding or at least some kind of career move. Nope, she was counting down to a haircut.
She first teased fans by tweeting a picture of shears poised next to her now-infamous hair bun.
After the haircut, Miley was apparently receiving a ton of hate tweets. So she fired back:
if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all. my hair is attached to my head no one else's and it's going bye bye :)— Miley Ray Cyrus (@MileyCyrus) August 12, 2012
Apparently, Miley announced back when she was 15 that she always wanted a “Twiggy” haircut. Basically, '70s supermodel Twiggy made this platinum blonde crop popular.
“One day I’m going to cut my hair like [Twiggy], I know I am. I will one day,” Miley told ABC several years ago.
In related news, I hope "Two and a Half Men" is okay with Miley's edgy new look. Why? Because she's reportedly appearing in several new episodes of the show playing a love interest to Angus T. Jones' character, Jake Harper.
E! News is reporting that Miley's character will be "sexy" and "rife with comedy."
